April Dive Meet – Dana Point

Date:  Sunday, April 21st, 2013

Rules:

• Meet starts at 8:00 AM; competitors and game must be in the weight-in circle at 1:30 pm sharp or be disqualified.
• Diver may use kayaks, paddleboards or beach diving.
• The meet has a 10 fish limit, no more than 3 fish per species.
• There is a 12 inch size limit for all fish except Bass, which will be 14 inches.
  Sheephead must be a min of 18 inches. All other DFG rules Apply!
• Scoring will be one point per fish and one point per pound

Directions:  From the 5 Fwy, exit to the 1 (Camino Las Ramblas) going North into Dana Point.

 Turn left on Dana Point Harbor Drive and follow it all the way to the Pier.

Parking should be free at the Dana Point Pier.

If you plan on diving the Point please bring dive flags for your kayak and for your floats as there is alot of boat traffic!

March Dive Meet –Lunada Bay, Palos Verdes Peninsula

Date:  Sunday, March 24th, 2013

Rules:

• Meet starts at 8:00 AM; competitors and game must be in the weight-in circle at 1:30 pm sharp or be disqualified.
• Diver may use kayaks, paddleboards or beach diving.
• The meet has a 3 fish limit, no more than 1 fish per species.
• There is a 12 inch size limit for all fish except Bass, which will be 14 inches. Sheephead must be a min of 18 inches.
• Scoring will be one point per fish and one point per pound.

Map / Directions:

From PCH in Redondo Beach:

Turn on to Palos Verdes Blvd., going towards Palos Verdes Penninsula. At the 3-way, merge right into Palos Verdes Dr. W.

Make a right on Paseo Lunada. Follow till it starts to turn right and becomes Paseo Del Mar, that is where we will Weight in.

From 110 Fwy South:

Exit at Pacific Coast Hwy and take it west (right) and drive into the Redondo Beach area, making a left at Palos Verdes Blvd.

 At the 3-way, merge right into Palos Verdes Dr. W.

Make a right on Paseo Lunada. Follow till it starts to turn right and becomes Paseo Del Mar, that is where we will Weight in.

January Dive Meet – Deer Creek, North Malibu

Date:  Sunday, January 27^th, 2012

Rules:

• Meet starts at 8:00 AM; competitors and game must be in the weight-in circle at 1:30 pm sharp or be disqualified.
• Diver may use kayaks, paddleboards or beach diving.
• The meet has a 3 fish limit, allowing 1 fish per species, all DFG rules apply.
• There is a 12 inch size limit for all fish except Bass, which will be 14 inches. Sheephead must be a minimum of 18 inches.
• Scoring will be one point per fish and one point per pound.

Directions:

Take PCH north from Malibu, pass the Ventura/Los Angeles County Line; look for where the first point starts to bend the road.

We will do the staging on the Beach. Come join us for the first dive of the year at a new spot!

LA Fathomiers

December Dive Meet – Reef Point, Laguna

Rules: POLE SPEARS ONLY!!!!

• Meet starts at 8:00 AM; competitors and game must be in the weight-in circle at 1:30 pm sharp or be disqualified.
• Diver may use kayaks, paddleboards or beach diving.
• The meet has a 10 fish limit, no more than 3 fish per species, except for Sheephead which only 1 fish may be submitted.
• There is a 12 inch size limit for all fish except Bass, which will be 14 inches. Sheephead must be a min of 18 inches.
• Scoring will be one point per fish and one point per pound.

Directions: Entrance at PCH and Reef Point Dr. (Just North of this address; 8471 N. Coast Hwy)

The Crystal Cove state park at Reef Point is not actually in Laguna Beach.The area is located between Corona Del Mar and Laguna Beach on Coast Highway (Highway 1), along coastal bluffs as well as chaparral canyon on the inland side of the highway. From Broadway in Laguna Beach travel north on Coast Highway about 4.3 miles until you get to the traffic light for Reef Point. At the traffic light turn South (towards the beach) and enter the park.

Meet at the southern end of the parking lot!

Bring money to pay for parking!
